Numeracy is the ability to use mathematical skills and understanding to solve problems. To obtain this ability, a child needs to be able to communicate and think quantatively, to make sense of data, to understand patterns and sequences and to identify situations where mathematical situations where mathematical reasoning can be used to solve problems.
